Behind the Scenes Q4 2021

Waypoint Team

Q4 was a busy time for Waypoint Wealth Partners! They gathered in San Francisco for a team retreat in October where they spent two great days focused on team building and communication. They ventured out to Marin for a team hike at the Tennessee Valley Trail where they hiked down to the beach and enjoyed a picnic and some fun Halloween trivia.

In December, the Waypoint team gathered at Annette’s home for their Annual Holiday Lunch.  It was such a joy to gather in person to celebrate the year together. We enjoyed a wonderful meal followed by the annual tradition of our white elephant gift exchange. This year, we introduced a fun dice game into the mix and we now have a new Waypoint tradition of playing Left Right Center at our holiday celebrations. Overall, it was a great year for the Waypoint team and we are looking forward to all that 2022 will bring!

Annette

Annette went to Portland for Thanksgiving with Adrian’s family and her sister Susanne was a surprise guest! “We had a ball running around PDX, riding bikes, and exploring. We found a little shop with the most amazing chocolate selection and a great little Danish café that claimed they had the largest selection of Aquavit so we had to try a few new ones.” Other that than that trip, Annette stayed close to home during the 4th quarter, hiking on weekends, enjoying small gatherings over the holidays and managing to stay clear of Covid! “The highlight was hosting the Waypoint team at our home to celebrate another great year!  With everyone working remotely, it’s such a treat when we can all be together.”

Chuck

December was a busy month for Chuck! He and his two sisters helped move their beloved Uncle Ted from the home he had lived in for 40 years into an assisted living facility around the corner. After all the end of year hustle bustle was over Chuck and his son CJ made their way to Tahoe and a few epic days of skiing together.

Courtney

Q4 was filled with Halloween fun and quality family time over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays for Courtney and her family. Ella enjoyed every minute of Halloween this year and Riley held her own with all of the big kids trick-or-treating in Pacheco Valley.  They celebrated Thanksgiving in Cloverdale with Courtney’s parents and Riley met her cousin, Weston for the first time over the Christmas holiday.  Christmas also included cookie decorating with Nonna and Pop Pop and beach time with Weston.  It was a fun filled few months for everyone!

Jesse

It was a VERY busy Q4 for Jesse! She and her new husband tied the knot on December 18th, 2021 at their new house in New Orleans. Between moving to NOLA, buying a house, and planning a wedding, the end of the year flew by. They are looking forward to completing some home projects and settling into the neighborhood before their first Mardi Gras in the spring.

Becca

In November, Becca and her husband traveled to upstate NY to visit her family. This was the first time she has been back east for 3 years. They explored Chittenango Falls state park and found turkey tail mushrooms while foraging with her dad. She also spent time with her two sisters and her nieces and nephews.

——

Rania

In November, Rania spent three weeks exploring all the sites, culture, and food of Mexico. There were endless highlights of the trip, hot air balloon ride over the Teotihuacan pyramids, experiencing Día de Muertos in Mexico City, visiting Hierve el Agua, swimming in a cenote, and spending time in the crystal-clear waters of Holbox! Her favorite place was visiting Mazunte, a remote beach town with good food, yoga, endless new friends, and unstable internet all of which make it easy to disconnect and soak in life. “This trip was the recharge I was looking for and reminded me that kindness surrounds us and people are good.” She looks forward to her next Mexico adventures.

Jill

Fall into winter was a time of much celebration.  Jill marked 50 years of friendship with her two best friends from kindergarten. They hiked in the dessert, enjoyed a sound bath under the stars, indulged at the spa and laughed their way through lots of lifetime memories. Closer to home, Jill and her son Drew joined several other Waypointers at Glide’s Annual Holiday Jam, supporting a wonderful organization that supports members of the Tenderloin community in San Francisco.  Thanksgiving brought the entire Carothers’ clan together in Southern California for lots of cooking and eating and feeling thankful. And Jill and family managed to make it to Tahoe before the storm of the century arrived, finishing the year celebrating a white Christmas with lifelong friends.

Dariusz

Dariusz spent much of his time with family and friends during the holidays. Thanksgiving was spent in San Francisco with his girlfriend’s family, and he also had a few Friendsgiving celebrations as well. He hasn’t skied much in Lake Tahoe due to the lack of snow so instead he spent it hiking and biking. Seeking snow and unknowing of the storm that was to hit Tahoe, he fled for Colorado where he spent the holidays with his family in addition to skiing Vail and Crested Butte.

Avelina

Avelina spent Q4 getting to know her new town of Sacramento and spending lots of time with friends and family over the holidays! She got the chance to reconnect with old friends she hadn’t seen in years and even hosted Christmas dinner at her new place. As the cold weather started to roll in, she took advantage of it with plenty of Netflix, winter hikes, and a mellow New Year’s Eve at home with a few close friends.
