Courtney Hutchinson, CFP®
Wealth Manager & Director of Operations

Courtney Hutchinson is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and was employee #1 at Waypoint.  She has been instrumental in building the firm’s processes and systems and continues to train and mentor new team members as they come onboard.  Her greatest joy, however, is serving her clients as a thoughtful listener, a sound advisor and a master of all the details that matter so much.

Prior to joining Waypoint Wealth Partners, Courtney had over a decade of experience working with clients at Barclays Wealth, Bernstein Global Wealth Management, and Ashfield Capital Partners.

Courtney graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a B.A. in Economics and a Minor in French Literature. She also earned a graduate certificate from the UC Berkeley Personal Financial Planning Program.

What do you enjoy most about your role as a Wealth Manager?

I love developing relationships with our clients and being the Go-To person they call for financial decisions, large and small. Virtually every day I leave the office knowing that my work helped someone or made a difference in their life.  It is an awesome feeling.

What makes you proud to be a part of the Waypoint team?

That we’ve decided as a firm to limit how many client relationships each advisor has so we can retain our high level of service as we grow.  Many organizations wouldn’t make that choice and I’m proud to work for a firm who has.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

To always treat others the way you want to be treated.  I think of this every day as I serve my clients and prepare for meetings.  I always think, “What would I want or expect from my advisor if I was in their shoes?”  I am a tough customer with high expectations so it is a great litmus test and they are words I live by.

What do you love to do outside of work?

Spending time with my family and friends and enjoying all that the Bay Area has to offer.  My husband, T.J. and I particularly enjoy finding new hiking trails, trying new restaurants and exploring wine country.
